AdvoCharge Review
In our AdvoCharge review we were pleased to find great transparency in the business model and pricing structure readily available on their website. Many merchant service providers don’t offer any pricing information and give little or no-detail about how their rates are determined. Because processing rates vary with the method used for collecting the credit card information for processing (swiped cards, internet transactions, pay by phone, etc.) as well as the type of industry (low risk vs. high risk), each business is going to need to get a detailed quote from the merchant providers he/she is most interested in using. However, there are other set fees that should be openly disclosed, as well as information about how processing rates are determined and calculated. The following list is taken directly from the AdvoCharge website about how they do business:
- We use interchange pricing only
- We have secured rates at cost with our processors
- Rates are locked for the life of your account
- No setup or cancellation fees
- Our compensation is based on a flat monthly fee
- Averages savings of 72% over fees paid to previous processor
- We are not aligned with any one processor, but instead connect our customers with the processor that best meets their needs
- With AdvoCharge as your merchant service advocate, we eliminate the need to re-evaluate your credit card processor every few years
As you can see from the list, AdvoCharge is upfront and clear about their pricing. Processing rates are determined by interchange pricing (rates set by Visa and Mastercard and associated with every type of credit card in circulation). The AdvoCharge Rates & Pricing page details other fees that make be applicable to your merchant account: a $6 per month statement fee (most merchants charge $10 or more), and a $5 per month PCI-DSS security scan fee. AdvoCharge is committed to getting the best pricing and processing rates for each individual customer. If you are with another processor currently, AdvoCharge can take your current processing statement and give you a side-by-side comparison of the rates they can offer your business. Those businesses that are looking for their first merchant service can get a detailed quote for your specific business needs.
